Ceruse- limed oak chest of drawers

A limed oak chest of drawers with carved edge and solid, attractive detailing.  Cerused, or limed oak has sixteenth century origins, but was further popularised in 1930’s France by renowned architects and designers, was much used also at that time by Heals of London and evokes that time period. It involves whitening the grain of the wood to lighten its look- today tinted waxes are used and not real lime! This is a particularly delightful chest which will blend with many furniture types and styles . It is very solidly made, with wooden jointed drawers and wooden back, and comes ready assembled and ready to go!  Limed oak is a particularly lovely wood finish which is timeless.
